I Love You ...

Yesterday was an important day, not for the rest of the world perhaps but for me, and very personally. I was holding His Holiness in my arms because the train we had been riding in was so crowded there was very little room for him to stand. We were out in the late afternoon, going nowhere in particular, just enjoying one of his favorite things; riding on a train. As we exited the train he turned to me, kissed me on the cheek and told me that he loved me. It wasn’t the first time he had ever said the words, “I Love You Papa” but it was the first time he said them without prompting of some sort. After I put him to bed at night I always stand at the door and point to him and say, “I love you” and he says, “I love you” and I say, “ I love you too” and this goes on for a bit, then I close the door. Yesterday there was no conversation at all preceding his statement … we were just walking.
